Hi,
your story was very inspiring to us, since we traveled aournd Europe for four years and wrote an ebook about it: "Ultralite Bicycle Camping - The cyclist´s guide to Ultrlite Camping and Touring in Europe; " www.bike-europe-ultralite.com ".
I am sure you could write an interesting book to!
Yours truely,

"my complex and somewhat aged aroma" - you do have a way with words, must remember that one... :)

I'm sorry to hear about your loss, and I hope for your sake you can get back into the swing of your ride without too much trouble. I always read your blogs with relish - they're the perfect length (unlike my epic ramblings) and I think you both strike a great balance between outer experiences and inner reflections.

Ah the free upgrade to first class... I had to fly home from China due to bereavement, and got upgraded on my long haul flight to Dublin. Normally, this would be a blessing, champagne oysters and 12 year old Glenmorangie- manna from Heaven. But three days of travel prior wearing grubby clothes from the road, I felt a little sorry for my fellow passengers crisp and fresh in their chinos, white pressed shirts and loafers, and had to put up with my complex and somewhat aged aroma, sullying the rarefied air of their business class.
Ha Ha : )

I enjoyed this little adventure, bon voyage home.

There's something uplifting about reading about your mixed experiences especially the crap times and then the happy ending. Like any good story in that genre then really.
