Karun: A Source To Sea Journey Along Iran’s Longest River

Today I’m very pleased to be able to share with you the first of a couple of teaser videos of Karun, the film I’ve recently been working on.

For those who missed it, Leon and I travelled to Iran in the spring of 2014 in order to follow the longest river in Iran. This film, which we’ve named after the river, was originally intended to be a cultural exploration with the river itself as a mere conduit to our experiences, but things didn’t quite go to plan – as is so often the case with adventures in general, but particularly – it seems – with adventures in Iran.

There’ll be more news on the film (and plenty of how-to content on DIY adventure filmmaking) over the next few months as we work on the film and prepare to release it. Stay tuned…

Karun has its own website at karunfilm.com, complete with social media sharing buttons, in case you’d like to help us spread the word about the project.

Looks great! Can’t wait to see the full video! And the film tips!

I am planning a trip, but a long way off, approx 2 years, as I need to save save save! I havn’t made an exact plan yet, but I will aim to cycle for about 3 years.

I will also take my camera with me, DSLR, to shoot video and timelapse sequences, and a go pro. I will have a laptop to edit and upload videos while on the road and solar and dynamo to power all gadgets. I just wanted to ask what gear you used apart from the camera itself, such as Tripod, I have been looking at the Benro Aero 4 as it looks small and compact and doubles as a monopod.

Anyway my first comment, I really just wanted to say Thanks! Your website is the first I came across when researching cycle touring and the information on here is fantastic!! Im sure as my preparation continues over the years while I save and live of bread and soup haha, that I will have a few more questions to ask 🙂
