This is a seriously powerful little burner. It packs away tiny in a supplied bag, it fastens to the top of the gas cartridge, open up the support arms and you're ready to go. In use the support arms for your pan literally glow red they're so hot. Unfortunately after a few uses the black plastic under the burner started to bubble, so it's now quite tricky to get the arms to open and close fully. I did think this was dangerous before as it's a bit top heavy to balance a pan on the gas cartridge on this tiny burner. In retrospect this is more powerful than we actually needed, and I've subsequently bought a different burner from another supplier which sits on the ground and connects to the cartridge through a short hose, which seemed a safer arrangement - however there were two problems with this - it wasn't very high of the ground so it burned the grass which wasn't brilliant in a drought with tinder-dry grass, and this also melted the plastic part of the burner, so this has gone in the recycling bin.

I did contact Coleman about the damage to their burner (see photo) but they pointed out that it's Amazon's responsibility, suggesting that I should contact Amazon making it very clear that I was making a Warranty Claim rather than requesting a Product Return. Which I did, but Amazon were not having any of it as I'd had the burner for a year (during which time it's maybe been used on 4 weekends away) - I'd thought they might be interested to hear that one of their products appeared to become dangerous in use, but apparently not. Anyway it looks like I'll be keeping this as a spare, but if I do use it again I'll only use it at maybe half power.

Update! I contacted Coleman again, sending them the transcript of the useless response I'd received from Amazon. Coleman kindly sent me another burner by courier, so I now have a new FyrePower to try. As it sits on the gas cart which feels a bit unsteady once there's a pan or kettle on top, I've also ordered a plastic tripod thing that the gas cart clicks into to give it stability. I've upped my review by a star to ***, I've yet to see how I get on with the replacement burner.

FURTHER UPDATE What with the recent plague we've not been camping at a festival until this weekend, which gave me the first chance to retry this burner. And it is brilliant, heats enough water for 4 or 5 mugs of tea in about 3 minutes, which makes my old Camping Gaz stove look pathetic. Over the weekend we heated up 10-12 kettles of water and still have some gas left in the Coleman C500 gas cart. And the burner still is fine, no melting. Although it has a self igniting switch I instead used a gas lighter (the sort of thing you use for a stove or baebeque) which I reckon is far safer.
